Become a Volunteer
When you volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country, you can make a difference in the lives of youth and give back to your community. Within the first few minutes of walking into a Club, you know you’re in a special place. Filled with the sounds and energy of spirited children and friendly, caring professionals, the Club is a fun and hopeful environment.
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
||Bring your talents, your skills, your passion or your time to make the difference in the life of a child.
Help Club members with their homework. Power Hour, our homework time, occurs Monday-Friday during the school year from 3:15-4:00 pm.
Do you have a skill or talent you would like to share? How to build something, how to make something or a hobby you can teach youth exposes them to more opportunities to grow and find something they are passionate about.
Mentors are caring individuals who, along with parents or guardians, provide young people with emotional support, counsel, friendship, reinforcement and a constructive example in a structured and trusting relationship. Mentoring at the Club would be spending time with a group of youth in various program areas connecting and building a relationship, exhibiting moral and ethical values and showing your support.
Help raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country by helping with one of our signature events or many other fundraising opportunities. Volunteers help ensure each event runs smoothly and our guests have an enjoyable experience. Without help from volunteers, these events would not be possible. Volunteers for special events typically assist in setup, clean up, ticket sales, greeters, serving food, check-out and more.
We have five core areas of programming: Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, the Arts, and Sports/Fitness/Recreation. Bring your knowledge and expertise in one of these core areas and share with youth in our community.

Yes, with a completed membership application.
No. However, setting up a regular schedule with our Unit Director provides more structure and assurance to our Club members that you will be in attendance on a regular basis.
The ideal volunteer for the Boys & Girls Clubs is an engaging, high-energy, self-starter who has a passion for working with kids! The Clubs are fun, active environments with lots of different activities taking place at a given time. While there are adult and youth staff in each program area, they are often working with the youth leading programs and are not always able to stop what they’re doing to provide volunteers with specific details on their activity. Successful volunteers are those that are able to jump in and help with whatever activity is taking place with minimal direction.
Adults (those who are 21 and older) looking to fulfill a court appointed community service requirement are not eligible to complete their hours with the Boys & Girls Club.
Also, all volunteers are background checked annually and if you have previously been convicted of any violent crimes, offenses related to drugs or crimes against a child, you are not eligible to volunteer for Boys & Girls Clubs.
BGCGC does work with volunteers under the age of 18, however, they are not required to attend the volunteer training. Please contact me for more details related to engaging young people in service in the Clubs.
When the school bell rings the Club becomes a flurry of high-energy and fast paced activities. Boys & Girls Clubs are drop-in facilities meaning all members are not necessarily in attendance every day therefore we cannot guarantee you’ll work with the same members each time you visit. As an adult volunteer our hope is that you will begin to build relationships with many of our members, being a positive role model for them to go to and look up to.
Volunteers with BGC are required to attend a training series to better understand the Clubs, our safety policies and our procedures for our volunteers. There are very limited training opportunities offered so please don’t delay in reaching out if you’re interested. We do also charge an one-time, non-refundable $20 Volunteer Application Fee to cover the costs associated with your training and background check. Payment will be collected at the time of registration for your Volunteer Training
