Bequest – Any type of gift in which the assets are transferred upon the death of the donor to the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country. The bequest may be made in several ways: gift of a percentage of your estate, gift of a specific dollar amount or asset, gift from the balance or residue of your estate and a retirement asset. Benefits – The donor will receive estate tax charitable deduction; lessen the burden of taxes on the donor’s family; and leave a lasting legacy.

The gift does not count as taxable income to the donor but does count toward the annual required minimum distribution (RMD). Benefits – The donor may avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from their IRA to our organization; satisfy the RMD for the year; reduce taxable income; make a fit that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts; and help further the work of our Mission.
Charitable Gift Annuity – A charitable gift annuity is a simple contract where the donor transfers property to the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country and the Club agrees to pay a fixed sum of money for life. A deferred gift annuity for income can also be arranged for a future date, such as when a donor retires.
Benefits – A portion of the income stream may be tax-free, and the donor will receive a charitable deduction for the gift to the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country.
Charitable Remainder Unitrust – A charitable remainder unitrust is an estate planning tool that provides income to the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country during the donor’s life and then donates the remainder. A charitable remainder unitrust pays the donor income that reflects trust investments. Benefits – The donor will receive income for life, lives or term or years; avoid capital gains on the sale of the donor’s appreciated assets; charitable income tax deduction for the remainder portion of the gift; and build a future legacy gift to the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country.
Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust – A charitable remainder annuity trust is a gift transaction where the donor contributes assets to a charitable trust which pays an annuity designed to leave a substantial proportion of the funds to the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country upon termination of the annuity. This type of trust pays out a fixed amount each year based on the value of the property at the time it is gifted. Benefits – The donor will have fixed income for life, lives or term of years; avoid capital gains tax on the sale of the donor’s appreciated assets; and charitable income tax deduction for the remainder portion of the gift to the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country.
Charitable Lead Trust – A charitable lead trust is a way for donors to pass some assets onto family while reducing, or eliminating, gift or estate taxes. A contribution of a donor’s property is made to fund a trust that pays the Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country income for a number of years and the donor receives a gift or estate tax deduction. After the period of time is over the family of the donor receives the trust assets plus any additional growth in value.
Sale and Unitrust – A sale and unitrust is where a donor gives a portion of an asset to Boys & Girls Club, the asset is sold, and the donor receives cash and the remainder goes to fund the charitable trust. The trust will provide the donor income for the rest of their life as well as a charitable deduction to offset the tax on the sale.
Benefits – The donor receives the cash needed to purchase another residence, travel or meet daily needs; the unitrust provides the donor with income for the rest of their life and future retirement; the unitrust deduction gives you valuable tax savings that may reduce tax bill; and when the donor passes away the remaining value in the unitrust will help they Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country further its work.
